Valley Of Fire State Park Information

Around 50 miles north of Las Vegas is the red and wild landscape of the Valley of Fire State Park which takes in around 36,000 acres of magnificent red rock formations, sweeping wind shaped sand dunes and brilliant sunsets which light up the rock like fire.

Formed over millions of years by movements of the earths crust, water and wind erosion, the park has become a favourite for visitors taking a tour or drive from Las Vegas. Over 300,000 come each year to camp, picnic, or a short tour. Activities here include rock-climbing, hiking and in spring and summer, swimming at Roger Springs. Photographers also flock here to shoot the dramatic colours and shapes which appear otherworldly against the deep blue Nevada skies.
