The Bronx Information

It's the birthplace of hip-hop, the former home of Edgar Allan Poe and the borough where Babe Ruth made his name. Today's Bronx celebrates all of those legacies. Visitors can pass through the borough on a hip-hop tour; taste the authentic flavor of Arthur Avenue, the Bronx's own Little Italy (homemade capellini, anyone?); cheer on the world-champion Yankees at their new stadium; and take in the colorful plants at the Wave Hill gardens and conservatory. Summer is also a great time to see all manner of flora and fauna at The New York Botanical Garden, where more than a million plants are in bloom, and the Bronx Zoo, where you'll find aardvarks, zebras and almost everything in between. Finally, for an unexpected getaway within city limits, sink your teeth into fresh seafood on City Island, the borough's maritime village. Subways, buses, private car services and tour companies make all these places easy to reach.
