See all locations in San DiegoThe park now includes a nighttime rock 'n roll orca extravaganza with a dizzying light show. As with any Shamu show, don't sit anywhere near the first 14 rows unless you're okay getting soaked (when SeaWorld employees remind you of this, take them seriously). Also at SeaWorld, the rare chance to slip on a wetsuit (the water is 13 degrees C / 55 degrees F) tointeract with beluga whales, walruses, seals, and possibly even a polar bear. Warm up in your own private shower afterward. For information, call the park (and choose extension 7) or sign on via the SeaWorld website.

Climb into a mock Greek fishing boat on Journey to Atlantis and rise skyward, first through a foggy mist then out into a world of blue - SeaWorld below, Mission Bay sparkling all around. Absorb the scene quickly, because in the next instant you'll plunge 20m (60 feet). The ride lasts roughly six minutes, but it seems closer to six gasps for breath.
Inside tip: Plan to arrive right at opening time (9 a.m. most of the summer); the first hour tends to be relatively un-crowded.
