French Polynesia has a typical climate for a tropical, oceanic island. Temperatures and humidity are high and conditions remain the same throughout the year except during the wet season between November and April when the islands receive their maximum rainfall. Tropical cyclones do occur but they are not as severe as they can be in other parts of the western Pacific.

Being in the southern hemisphere, French Polynesia has summer from December to February. Expect temperatures to reach a maximum of mid-30°C in January while in July and August the lowest temperature is still a lovely average of 20°C.
