See all locations in Auckland RegionAuckland's Sky Tower is a striking telecommunications and observation tower set in the heart of Auckland city. It is 328 metres high making it the tallest free standing structure in the southern hemisphere and one of the 12 tallest structures in the world. Special viewing decks allow visitors to take in the panoramic views of Auckland, its harbour and the countryside up to 80km away.
There are two restaurants in the Sky Tower - one of which revolves slowly through 360 degrees. For adventure-minded thrill seekers, the Sky Jump allows you to throw yourself off the tower and fall over 190 metres before coming to a gentle stop at the bottom. The Sky Walk, whilst more sedate, is no less heart thumping, as you walk, harnessed and tethered, around the circumference of the tower. The views are awesome, even if the walkway seems a little narrow!
