Semporna Island Information

Semporna is is a medium sized town on the east coast of sabah that is an ideally located staging post for visitors travelling out to the spectacular nearby diving destinations such as Sipidan and Mabul islands.

Semporna was initially established by Chinese traders and is small enough that it is easy to explore on foot with the highlight being the collection of buildings built over the sea on the waterfront. For many years the local Bajau people lived on boats and have only recently moved onto the land.
