Wicklow Information

County Wicklow can be found on the east coast of Ireland, just below Dublin. It is a popular weekend getaway for Dubliners escaping the city for some rest and relaxation. Sometimes called the Garden of Ireland, County Wicklow has magnificent natural beauty, sweeping coastlines and the famous Wicklow Mountains.

The Wicklow mountains are a popular place for outdoor actitities with many great fishing locations as well as rafting and hiking spots.

Glendalough is a famous historic monastic site near to the town of Laragh, and the area is also great for walking. Powerscourt estate is another very popular destination. It is an historic mansion with wonderful formal gardens, one of the last major formal gardens created in Europe.
