Parliament Buildings Information

The Parliament Buildings of Northern Ireland are located in the Stormont area of Belfast, because of this the buildings are commonly known as "Stormont". It is currently the seat of the Northern Ireland Assembly and the Northern Ireland Executive. The buildings were opened in 1932 and originally housed the Parliament of Northern Ireland.

The building has a fascinating history that parallels the turbulent history of government in Northern Ireland. Many parts of the building have remained largely unaltered since the opening and there are many impressive works of art hanging in various parts of the building.
