Killorglin Information

The pretty little seaside town of Killorglin is the first stop out of Killarney on the journey around the Ring of Kerry in the south west of Ireland. The town is a peaceful location situated on the top of a hill south of the headwaters of Castlemaine Harbour. Killorglin is surrounded by rivers, lakes and the coastline so it is not surprising it is well know for it's fishing. Many of the lakes are prime locations for catching brown trout while the River Laurne is a well know Salmon fishing spot.

The town is home to one of the oldest festivals in Ireland, held over 3 days in August the Puck festival commemorates a stampede of wild goats coming through the town that warned of the approach of Cromwells army.
