Clifden Information

In the west of Galway between the mountains and the sea is the charming town of Clifden. The combination of the "12 Bens" surrounding the town and the beautiful Clifden bay with it's estauries and streams makes the beauty of this place hard to go past. The nearby "Skyroad" is a wild and windy drive, but provides some exceptional views over the bay and Clifden townitself.

The town is a favourite of the irish and is a great place to enjoy outdoor activities, swimming and watersports, golf, walking and fishing are all popular persuits in these parts. As a tourist destination it is well catered for with charming Bed and Breakfasts, pubs and resaurants. The quality of the food has provided the town with a reputation as the "gourmet capital of the west".
