Travel Tips

Major airports, train stations, popular restaurants and tourist sites are common areas where scam artists prey. Be wary of people offering cheap transport deals as these may lead to robbery or even kidnappings. Use only official travel agents to organize trips and never accept food or drink from a stranger. Only ever deal with reputable businesses when purchasing jewelry or other expensive items and if a deal sounds too good to be true, it is!

Travelers should ignore beggars and never give them money as this will only attract a stampede of beggars. Getting angry with them will only make them follow you for longer. Wearing local clothes and following local customs will decrease the amount of attention you receive. Be particularly careful at tourist attractions of strangers offering assistance. Always enquire how much the service will cost first and never be afraid to just walk away.
