India is the seventh largest country in the world and is home to the second largest number of people on earth just behind China. It has Pakistan to its west, China and Nepal to its north, Bhutan to its north-east, Bangladesh and Myanmar to its east, and the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Indonesia all lie to its south-east.

The country is diverse in many areas such as climate, geography, language, and culture and is the largest democracy in the world. India’s rich history is evident in the many temples, monuments and palaces on display. It has undergone a vast transformation from its past civilizations, languages and religions from thousands of years ago to the current economy, technology and media that is present today. This is truly a fascinating land that will promise to fascinate any traveler.

Parts of India not to be missed are the Golden Triangle encompassing Agra, Delhi and Jaipur, the amazing temples of Tamil Nadu, the vibrant and busy cities of Mumbai and Kolkata and the religious city of Varanasi. For a more relaxed vibe position yourself on one of the many beaches of Goa and Kerala or experience the beautiful mountains and streams of the Himalayas. Then there is the smorgasbord of food offering every imaginable spice to temp the taste buds and if it is sport that interests you then you will discover India’s obsession with cricket.

India is rarely out of the international spotlight as this vast land boasts one of the world’s fastest growing economies. There are several strong concerns still prominent throughout the country such as the dispute with Pakistan, terrorism, the increasing population growth, corruption, and poverty. However if you want a life changing experience then this is the land to visit. It will be a memory that you will either love or hate and quite possible feel both. India will capture your attention with both hands.
