Nacula Island Information

Part of the Yasawa Group that is to the north west of Viti Levu, Nacula Island is the third largest of the group, measuring around 3 kilometres by 10 kilometres.

As well as the ubiquitous tropical surroundings of beaches, coral and warm blue waters, Nacula Island is also blessed with some rugged hills which are great for trekking and can provide some different and stunning views of the surrounding area. The coral reefs are home to a variety of marine life and turtles can often be seen sharing the water with hundreds of tropical fish species.

Nacula Island as well as the others in the Yasawa group are renowned for the intact traditions of the Fijian indigenous populations which have remained here for many years. One of the things that stands out to visitors is the warmth and friendliness of the locals, many of whom live in traditional villages around the island but work in the various tourist facilities on the island.

There are plenty of options for accommodation, including the Oarsmans Bay resort which is located near one of the villages also called Nacula. The resort is adjacent to one of the very best beaches and is backed by mountains. Travellers can choose from charming beach bures to dorm style rooms or even camping.
