Yarralumla is known as one of Canberra's most prestigious suburbs. The name of the area was given by the Ngunnawi people which was retained even after European settlement. Today the wide leafy streets and lakeside location make Yarralumla a desirable suburb. Goverment house, home to the Governor General is located in the area. Elegant properties in the suburb have a reputation for being a little it ritzy not to mention a little bit pricey.
When visiting Yarralumla stop by Weston Park, the perfect picnic spot for families. The park sits on Lake Burley Griffin and provides playgrounds and even swimming spots for kids.
Activities in the area include golf at the Royal Canberra Golf Club or a visit to the wool shed where there is always a host of activities.
