They are thrilled to have finally set up to showcase the richness of the area and the quality of the milk produced in this northern area. The regional climate with its sunshine and warmth is excellent for milking cows, with lush pastures that grow all year around.

They are delighted to display their cheeses to visitors. Bruce will describe the process and give tastings with all kinds of anecdotes about cheese, dairy farming, and local delights.

Sue sells most of their product at markets every weekend and has many stories about her travels around Victoria. Both of them are committed dairy farmers keen to share their knowledge of fresh and wholesome milk production with visitors.

Currently they make white mould cheeses in three sizes, all of which mature slightly differently. The tiny Mundoona Mini is a firm cheese, ideal for two to share, or for cooking for those who enjoy a deep fried camembert with cranberry sauce.

Wunghnu Soft is a creamy flavoursome cheese preferred by many to have with a glass of wine or on a cheese platter.

The largest cheese, the Kaarimba Soft is smooth, creamy cheese described as divine by some of its fans. It develops a wonderful full bodied flavour similar to a French brie.

News: We now have delicious blue cheese - come and taste it

In August and September, you might see cows calving in the paddock adjacent to the factory, calves being fed in springtime, and through summer the paddocks are irrigated every week. Visitors are invited to stay until 4.30 pm when the cows are milked.

A visit to Locheilan is a special and unique experience.
