WOMEN TO UNITE & CELEBRATE IMPORTANT MILESTONE IN HISTORY!!!! FEDERATION SQUARE - SUNDAY 26th OCTOBER - 11.00AM FREE COMMUNITY EVENT - ALL WELCOME

Join the 100 year celebration & anniversary of Victorian Women gaining the right to Vote 1908 2008 and pay homage to our suffragette sisters who sacrificed to give women a voice. a walk of art ...& Art Exhibition" will acknowledge women s achievement and will inspire women to reach for their goals through the use of art (Visual & Performance). We call on all women, artists, families, community groups & cultural/ethnic groups of Victoria to join the walk from Federation Square, via Parliament to the Queen Victoria Women s Centre to take part in this historically important milestone for women.

The welcome address at Federation Square will be given by Judy Maddigan (first woman Speaker of Parliament) and will include a special live performance by Lisa Edwards. This will be a fabulous commemoration celebration - full of life, colour, fun & recognition. An exhibition of the artworks from the event will be on display over the month of November, at the Queen Victoria Women's Centre. Art Prizes and promotional opportunities have been kindly donated by the Bank of Queensland and the QVWC.
