Yaxley Estate Wine Information

Yaxley Estate Vineyard is a certified organic property located in the South East region of Tasmania. Situated on a sunny, dry and hilly landscape facing the deep blue of the Tasman Sea, it was planted on a sandy slope facing north with the vineyard receiving the first rays of the morning sun as it rises over the ocean. The summer days are the longest in Australia and this, tempered with a cool, dry microclimate means the grapes ripen over a longer period and thus produce a more intense fruit flavour for each variety. They produce Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and in some years Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc as well.

Yaxley Estate no longer operates a cellar door from the property, instead they partner with Vines and Designs (at The Copping Museum, 2217 Arthur Highway) to offer a regional wine tasting experience representing them plus other south eastern vineyards, a local art and craft gallery, licensed café, pantry/deli products and gold coin entry to the colonial collection and museum on site.

Vines and Designs is open Thursday – Monday from 0900 – 1700.

Closed for 3 weeks in winter each year, please phone 03 6253 5373 for details.
