Woodbridge Hill Handweaving Studio and Gardens

The Woodbridge Hill Handweaving Studio is a textile studio in southern Tasmania. Woodbridge a coastal town, 40 minutes south of Hobart (43 kilometres) overlooking the D’Entrecasteaux Channel.

At the Woodbridge Hill Handweaving Studio you can watch Tasmanian textile artists at work. The Studio specialises in handspun and handwoven garments and tapestries using a range of natural fibres including wool, mohair, alpaca, fine silk, cotton and linen. Here you can browse the range of colourful garments, shawls, scarves, rugs and fabrics, or walk in the extensive gardens, which feature unusual plant species and an extensive collection of fruit trees. During apple season, you can taste the many heritage varieties of apples grown on the property.

A number of other artists and craftspeople live and work in the Huon Valley and D’Entrecasteaux Channel area. You can visit the Regnan’s Gallery at Peppermint Bay, near Woodbridge, to see a range of work by talented Tasmanian artisans. At Enchanted Woods, in Castle Forbes Bay, you can see a local wood turner crafting Tasmanian specialty timbers, or perhaps visit the Woodfired Pottery studio and workshop at Glen Huon and select a piece of handmade Tasmanian stoneware.
