Driftwood Cottages offers self-contained accommodation at Dover in southern Tasmania. Dover is one-and-a-half hours’ drive southwest of Hobart (83 kilometres).
Driftwood Cottages offers a range of self-contained accommodation. The four Waterfront Studio Cottages, set in two attached pairs, have mountain and bay views. Each unit has a queen size bed, underfloor heating, fully-equipped kitchen, and a television and dvd player. A continental breakfast, including freshly baked Tasmanian bread and jams, is available on request.
The Beach House is a two bedroom, self-contained house with a queen-size bed in the main bedroom and two single beds in the second bedroom. The Beach House has a wood heater and fully-equipped kitchen. Guests can enjoy mountain and sea views from the spa, sunk into the outdoor deck.
Castaway Cottage is a two bedroom, self-contained cottage located a short distance away from the other cottages. It has direct access to Dover beach, and has a private garden and barbecue area.
Dover was originally established as a convict probation station and later became an important port, shipping Huon pine to the world. It is claimed that Huon pine shipped from this area was used in the construction of Dover Pier in England.
