The aim is to teach children the universal values of kindness, compassion, and how to be happy. Incorporating Buddhist principles, they hope to open children's minds to exploration of values such as humility, kindness, respect and responsibility.
16 Guidelines for a Happy Life program from the Essential Education for Children publication Ready Set Happy as the foundation for this year's activities. Children, young people, and their families will be provided with materials on each guideline and have the opportunity to use the guidelines and activities at home to maintain interest and let ideas sink in.
Some topics include responsibility, forgiveness, gratitude, principles, aspirations, service, and courage.
