Stirling Range Retreat is an award winning, accredited ecotourism destination opposite Bluff Knoll Road - with choices of budget and air-conditioned, fully self-contained chalets plus caravan/camping sites with sunrise, sunset and mountain views. An easy drive - Chester Pass Road is bitumen and follows an ancient river bed through the mountains!

During spring, Orchid and Wildflower Tours (with walkabouts) visit well camouflaged orchids and wildflowers and the Bird Tours discover birds in stunning breeding plumage during nesting season. Binoculars are supplied.

Hidden Treasures Orchid and Wildflower Bus Tours visit orchid and wildflower hot spots daily at 9.00 a.m. from 15 August to 31 October, with twice daily Dawn and Dusk Bird Walks being offered from 16 September to 31 October at 8.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m.

Over 90 bird species have been observed there including the Rufous Treecreeper and rare birds like the Crested Shrike Tit. With birdsong at your doorstep, frogs are heard and opportunistic sightings of endemic native mammals and monitor lizards occur regularly.

This ecotourism destination is an ideal base to discover some of the 1,500 wildflower and 123 orchid species of Stirling Range National Park.
