Norton Summit Information

The charming Norton Summit is only a twenty minute drive out of the Adelaide CBD. The location is primarily known for its vineyards. Its height and rainfall provide the perfect conditions for producing world class wines and the perfect atmosphere to enjoy some of the calmest surroundings in regional Australia.

Norton Summit is named after bullock driver, Robert Norton, who was the first settler to discover the location in the early 1800's. Norton Summit was also home to longest running state premier, Sir Thomas Playford. He was in parliament for 27 years. People from the summit knew Playford as a keen orchardist.
