Lenswood Information

Some of the most beautiful scenery of the Adelaide Hills can be found here. Lenswood is surrounded by lush orchards and rolling vineyards. The weather in this region is not only suitable for producing world class wine but also for the perfect getaway. Stay in the quiet town for a few nights or simply tour the region for some taste tests from the wineries in the area.

The Kaurna people were the Indigenous inhabitants of Lenswood, numbering approximately 650 in 1842. The area developed as an extension of Forest Range and was headed by the Lenswood co-operative cold store. In 1917 the first post office opened and the name Lenswood was given to the area.
