Snowy Mountains Information
Australia's high country is home to spectacular peaks, clear mountain streams and a plethora of accessible natural attractions for lovers of the oudoors. Although the region is best known for it's skiing and snowfields in the winter months, the area is a great place to visit all year round. In the warmer months walking, mountain biking and horseriding are popular ways to explore the areas impressive scenery and historical past, and the beautiful mountain streams are brilliant for fishing in either winter or summer.
At the end of a great day outdoors, get cosy in a mountain chalet, cosy bed and breakfast or even stay in a country pub. During the ski season there are plenty of lodges right in the snow, or you can stay in the valleys and travel to the slopes at the start of the day.
