The scenic and remote Ragged Range can be found in the north of the Kimberley region of Western Australia, near Kununurra. It is home to the Argyle Diamond Mine which opened in 1985 and which now is open to tourists. Tourists are flown in from Kununurra via the Ord Dam and the spectacular Bungle Bungle ranges. Although only 5% of the diamonds are of gem quality the recovery room at the mine provides a fascinating experience as the rough diamonds are sorted and graded.
