Cobbold Gorge Information

Cobbold Gorge is a pristine natural environment located in North Queensland. The gorge itself is unique with its narrow shape and ancient rock formation. Tall cliffs guide flowing creeks and give life to native plant and fauna. Visitors can experience the gorge by cruising right through it on a boat and become overwhelmed by the size and ancient history that surrounds.

See crocodiles lazing by the creek and listen the song of Australian bird life. The gorge is a haven for the uniquely Australian animals. The rock walls themselves are a spectacle. The rugged tops of the cliffs slowly morph into smooth curved shape where it meets the water. This shows the natural shaping over 1570 million years.

Visitors can only experience the gorge by guided tour but accommodation in the area varies from the rough of bush camping to something a little more comfy.
