Australian University Games

The Games is the flagship event of Australian University Sport, the peakbody for university sport in Australia. The Games concept is based on other multi-sport events such as the Olympic Games, the Commonwealth Games, and the World University Games. Over the past 13 years in excess of 60,000 student athletes have participated in the Games. As each year passes the event attracts a growing number of talented university student athletes. The Games attracts a very loyal following of students interested in competitive sport, whilst meeting new friends in a "youth festival" atmosphere. Consequently the Games are best described as a high standard sport-tourism participation event.
