The Exotic Jam Factory and Sticky Beaks Restaurant

Nestled in the small township of 'Apple Tree Creek', situated seven kilometres north of Childers on the Bruce Highway is this home base and business, The Exotic Jam Factory and Sticky Beaks Restaurant. The business has evolved from a combination of an abundance of locally grown fruits and a fascination with the unusual and exotic.

The climate and topography are ideal for growing these exotic fruits. Max's skills as a chef are put to the test while he trials new combinations and the connoisseur can try something different (strawberry, shiraz and cracked pepper) or Jumbuck Sauce, similar to plum chili but with the exotic addition of Jaboticaba, try the swagman pizza for a difference. The wood fired pizza oven has attracted the locals and a lot of the passing traders attention and the Restaurant is kept busy producing gourmet pizzas. Most dietary requirements are catered for and the outdoor restaurant is relaxed and suits the Queensland climate, the menu reflects the seasons and some seasonal exotic fruits have been incorporated. The Restaurant is a BYO establishment and it has worked well having the pub next door.

The hours of operations are Sunday to Thursday 9.00 a.m. till 6.00 p.m., closed on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday 9.00 a.m. till 10.00 p.m. The Restaurant is open for dinners and takeaway on a daily basis and welcome bookings for parties and functions.
