Roma Street Parkland Information

This oasis in the heart of Brisbane is a must see destination. With spectacular subtropical plant displays, sweeping vistas and unique artwork, Roma Street Parkland is the perfect place to go exploring - and it's only a short walk from Brisbane's Queen Street Mall.

The Parkland is not only a garden-lover's paradise, but also a regular host to many special events throughout the year. It has emerged as a popular gathering place for the people of Brisbane and a true highlight for visitors to the city, attracting nearly half a million people every year.

Join one of the guided walks offered twice daily that provide leisurely and informative walk and talk adventures through the Parkland's misty fern groves, along rocky peninsulas, past the lakeside meadow and through gardens bursting with colour. Other options include a 15 minute trackless train ride or a self guided tour using one of the informative brochures available from the visitor information centre.

The parklands provide well-maintained picnic spots and gas barbecues so you can prepare your own food. Otherwise you can lunch in the licensed cafe overlooking the Water Wall.

There are playgrounds designed for children of all ages, with swings – including the Liberty Swing designed for those with a disability – slides, spinning toys, climbing frames, gongs and sound boxes, as well as steps, trees and a rock-lined tree bed for games and exploration.

Roma Street Parkland is owned by the Queensland Government. It is open seven days a week. See their website, which contains a wealth of information to help you plan your visit.
