Piccaninnie Ponds Information

Piccaninnie Ponds is one of South Australia's best and most popular cave diving and snorkelling spots.


You can snorkel or dive here after obtaining a permit. Visitors can snorkel across the top of 'The Chasm' and peer into the dark depths below. With visibility that can exceed 40 metres, this is one of the prettiest and most spectacular underwater sites in South Australia.

Permits for cave diving and snorkelling are available from the Department for Environment and Heritage office at Mount Gambier.
