Perth Information
The capital of WA is situated in a picture-postcard setting on the banks of the Swan River, and offers great year-round weather, natural parklands and an active outdoors and beach lifestyle. The city's free buses help you visit all the CBD's attractions, including the Perth Mint. Head to King Street for some retail therapy, take a stroll through Kings Park, then paint the town red at Northbridge.
The Perth coast is made up of 80 kilometres of white beaches perfect for swimming, snorkelling and surfing. Cottesloe is one of the city's most popular, with towering Norfolk pines and buzzing cafés and pubs. Scarborough's exciting surf and nightlife is a big favourite with young adults, while safe Sorrento is a favourite with families. A short ferry ride from Perth is Rottnest Island, where locals go to the beautiful beaches, snorkel turquoise waters over shipwrecks or go fishing.
For a burst of fresh air, hire a bike and take to the cycle-ways and footpaths that run alongside the beautiful Swan River. In fact, paths extend along the entire Perth coastline so you can enjoy great views of the sea and then cool off with a dip in the ocean at one of the many beautiful Perth beaches
