Katherine Cemetery was established in 1934. It is set on the Katherine River, amid tranquil bush, and offers a fascinating historical and genealogical account of the establishment and development of the town. As well as historic headstones there is a memorial wall in the rotunda recording who lived and died locally.

The Katherine Memorial Cemetery is situated 4 km from the GPO along Giles Street, opposite the Katherine Museum.
