Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) Information

Kata Tjuka (the Olgas) means "many heads" in the traditional Anangu language. They are situated in the Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park about 30 kilometres from Uluru. Kata Tjuta consists of 36 rounded domes or heads, separated by narrow valleys covering about 35 square kilometres. The tallest is Mt Olga, which at 546m is almost 200m taller than Uluru and 1072m above sea level.

The Valley of the Winds is a picturesque walk which circles several of the domes. It takes 4-5 hours. It is also possible to walk about 2 kilometres into the spectacular Olga Gorge. Walks are often restricted to early mornings on days when temperatures are expected to top 36 degrees.
