Located in Victoria's eastern corner Gippsland has some of the finest landscapes in Victoria. Hike through national forests, fish in pristine mountain streams and dine at stylish restaurants. Explore scenic Wilsons Promontory, sample the local delicacies including fine wine, cheese, fruits and berries, or take to the slopes at Mount Baw Baw Alpine Resort, the closest downhill ski area to Melbourne. Base yourself in Walhalla for further exploration of the region.

Gippsland Lakes are fed by the waters of five major rivers and fringed by the Ninety Mile Beach and provide ample opportunities for swimming, fishing, boating and sailing. Dine al fresco at a lakeside restaurant or pub, have a family picnic by a river, or take a stroll through the waterfront villages of Paynesville, Metung or Lakes Entrance, known widely as the seafood capital of Victoria and where the region's lakes system meets the sea.

Continue east to Croajingolong National Park, a World Biosphere Reserve. With more than 100 kilometres of pristine coastline and hinterland, it is a great place to go bushwalking, surfing or spotting various species of bird and plant life.
