The event is run by Rainbow Beach Sports Club, a not for profit community organization.

The event is run over an eight day period and has three major classes of fishing: Beach, Reef and Jew, providing offshore, inshore and beach fishing, which will cater for people with all levels of fishing experience. The event celebrates with over AUD100,000.00 in prizes and focuses very much on the family aspect, providing special days within the event especially for Kids, Ladies and Veterans.
