Shake out the picnic rug and get ready for the Fraser Lions Hervey Bay Seafood Festival’s tenth birthday party on Sunday, August 17. Fishermen’s Park at Urangan will come alive with celebrations happening throughout a day packed full of fun and fabulously fresh seafood harvested from the local waters.
This year’s festival, as always, will have an array of dishes featuring seafood from the region’s sustainable commercial fisheries. The menu has been structured to give festival-goers a wide range of favourites, including whiting, calamari, prawns, crabs and scallops, prepared in ways that reflect the international flavours of the Fraser Coast lifestyle.
There will be displays and demonstrations that are informative as well as entertaining to ensure that there is something for everyone. Stallholders from throughout the seafood industry will be participating. There will be boats, electronics, brokerages, motors, health and nutritional information, scallop shucking, fish filleting, prawn peeling - and eating.
Visit the display and demos on all things nautical.
