All lie within a 45 kilometre radius of Dampier. Walking and camping on the islands is permitted but under strict conditions in many cases (ie. maximum of five nights stay).

Marine life includes Loggerhead, Green, Hawksbill and Flatback turtles, Bottle-nosed dolphins, dugongs as well as whales from July to September. A wide variety of bird species make the archipelago their home.

Aboriginal engravings are found on many of the islands. The best examples being Enderby and Rosemary. On other islands there are remainders of what are believed to be historic pastoral settlements and a whaling station thought to be operating between 1870 and 1872.

Local tour operators provide reef and deep water fishing excursions. As well as diving and general sightseeing tours of the islands.
