The De Grey-Mullewa Stock Route has played an important role in the state's early history of stock movement. The route was gazetted in 1905, commencing at the mouth of the De Grey River and finished, after the long trek at Mullewa.
This heritage trail highlights three of the southern most government wells, Perkins Well, White Well and Woodenooka Well together with the natural watering hole known as Hughie Rocks.
The trail terminates at Tallering Peak and Gorge sixy one kilometres from Mullewa and is an extremely picturesque area especially during winter and spring and would be the ideal spot for a barbecue lunch before the return journey to Mullewa.
Length of route is one hundred and twenty-five kilometres.
