Charlotte's Pass is home to the highest resort in Australia. The popular ski resort sits at 1760 metres and can host up to 607 guests. During the winter the Charlotte's Pass village is so covered with snow that visitors must travel by skidoo to reach their destination. This is an 8km trip from the Perisher Blue ski tube terminal.
Charlotte's Pass was named after the first European woman to climb Mt Kosciuszko. Charlotte Adams reached the summit in 1881. The largest building in the village is The Chalet. The Chalet opened in 1930. In 1939 The chalet was rebuilt after burning down the previous year. The Chalet is still the most significant building in the village.
