Buchan is a farming settlement in the rolling hills of the Gippsland region in Victoria. The main industries in the area are sheep, cattle, dairying and timber. The Buchan station was started by Edward Baylis during the 1830s. Settlement began during the 1840's.
The most popular tourist attraction is the spectacular limestone caves known as the Buchan Caves. Incredible rock structures line the cave where numerous fossils and bones have been found, telling stories of Australia's ancient history.
