Blackbutt is an attractive small town surrounded by native forests, Situated on the D'Aguilar Highway, at the southern entrance to the South Burnett. 'Blackbutt' is the common name for the Eucalyptus Piluralis tree, native to the area. Often referred to as the 'Timber town', Blackbutt has a strong association with the timber industry dating back to the mid-1800a when European settlers first arrived here.
