On your left as you enter from the south end of the Dalwallinu townsite you will see the old well which supplied the early settlers and travellers with water.

The well was built in 1909 by two brothers, Albert and Frederick Ellison.
The timber built up around the well was Gimlett, Salmon Gum or other long and straight timbers which grew close to the well that met government standard.
