Adelaide Hills International Sculpture Symposium 2014 Information
Event Dates: Monday 31st of March 2014 to Monday 21st of April 2014
The Adelaide Hills International Sculpture Symposium 2014 is an exciting arts event, held in a magnificent setting on the ridge at the Cedars, Hahndorf, the estate of artist Hans Heysen.
The symposium will bring together eight internationally recognised sculptors to work over 21 days to create eight world class stone sculptures. They will start with large blocks of rough stone (marble and granite) and gradually transform them into sculptures for permanent placement at various public locations in the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula.
Visitors to The Cedars during the symposium will have the rare and unique opportunity to see the sculptors carve out their dreams. Visit often to see how it's done as the sculptures take shape. Please note event is closed 6 and 13 April. Entry via gold coin donation.
The event is biennial. After three events there will be a sculpture trail of 24 major art works.
