Located in the South Pacific Ocean, American Samoa enjoys a typically very warm, tropical climate. The total land area for American Samoa is 199 square kilometers and it consists of five volcanic islands and two coral atolls. The best time to travel is during the dry season from May to October as the heaviest rainfalls are usually between December and April. There is also a local cyclone season from November to April.
