American Samoa is a beautiful, unspoiled tropical paradise located halfway between New Zealand and Hawaii. With its stunning secluded beaches, spectacular reefs, rugged mountain ridges, and lush rainforests filled with wildlife, American Samoa has much to motivate travel to this remote and underrated tropical destination.

As an unorganised territory of the United States, American Samoa offers travellers a unique blend of traditional Polynesian and Samoan culture with many of the advantages of contemporary western conveniences, right in the heart of the South Pacific.

Visitors to the main island of Tutuila will discover the magnificent harbour of Pago Pago, a city surrounded by majestic mountains and that boasts breathtaking views. Located in Pago Plaza is the visitor centre for the American Samoa National Park, which is extended across three of the islands: Tutuila, Ta'u and Ofu.

For an authentic taste of traditional village life visitors can take advantage of a two day cruise to some of the outlying islands. Another cruise takes tourists to Aunu'u Island to see the red quick sands of Pala Lake and on to Ma'ama'a Cove to experience the dramatic surf as it crashes on the spectacular rocks.

For those who are seeking tranquility, a visit to the secluded, virtually untouched beaches of the outer Manu'a Islands is a must. With their turquoise, coral filled waters and enormous towering cliffs, these remote beaches offer a feast for the senses and undisturbed calm.
